We have a brand-new copy of A DUKE IN SHINING ARMOR by Loretta Chase! It's a run runaway bride roadtrip romance with a very cinematic quality.

Mini-Reviews!
[fa icon="calendar'] Dec 21, 2017 11:02:00 AM / by Suzanne
We're going to start a new series today, composed entirely of little reviews. Reviewlets, if you will. Think of them like owlets - baby reviews that, sadly, will never fledge and leave the nest. These are the sort of review I post on GoodReads or Amazon when I don't have enough to say about the book to warrant a post. I'm also not going to add them to the searchable database (unless the masses demand).
Exclusive Cover Reveal and Interview! Cat Sebastian on Bawdy Songs, Baby Goats, and What's Next
[fa icon="calendar'] Dec 20, 2017 10:00:00 AM / by Suzanne posted in interview
Cat Sebastian's latest m/m historical romance came out last week and you can read all about it here. After I read It Takes Two to Tumble, I ran off to pre-order her next book... only to discover that the blurb hadn't been posted. The horror, the horror!
Long story short, we asked Cat to spill the proverbial beans and she did. I cannot wait for Cat's nonbinary protagonist. Even better, she shared the cover of her next book with us. It's so pretty, y'all.
The Coyote's Chance, by Holley Trent

Sometimes a book is just not for me, and this was sadly the case here. I made it to about 30% into the book before I gave up due to my own triggers being pressed. There's a lot to love in THE COYOTE'S CHANCE, though, so please keep reading. It may very well be the book for you!

We have a special giveaway for you today from Author Sionna Fox! She's giving away two (2) print copies of the Mated Anthology from Carina Press.
The rules, in case you need them:
- 1 copy of a book or comic to a randomly selected winner. Could be digital, could be print, will definitely have queer or romantic elements, because that's who we are. (If it's a print copy, you'll have to give us your mailing address, so if you're moving, keep that in mind.) Print is US only, sorry. This is still a labor of love and we can't afford int'l postage.
- The giveaway post will go up in the afternoon on Friday and will run through midnight on Sunday.
- Use the Rafflecopter widget below for a chance to win.
Everybody Else is Doing It... My 2017 Top 5 (Novels Edition)
[fa icon="calendar'] Dec 12, 2017 10:01:00 AM / by Suzanne
Before we get to my Top 5, a note:
As with any "Best Of" list, this is a highly subjective selection, limited by my own tastes and time. I read about 200 books a year, but not all of them came out in 2017, which limits the group further. Nevertheless, this was a hard list to compile!
With that said, here are five books that had significant meaning or impact for me this year.
Romance Novels for Hillary
[fa icon="calendar'] Dec 8, 2017 3:22:21 PM / by Suzanne
If you haven't already heard, Hillary Clinton said some things about romance novels this week. I don't want to give anyone clicks for this, so I'll sum it up: she said that popular culture is full of negative portrayals of relationships between men and women. She singled out romance novels as being full of women being "thrown on a horse and ridden off into the distance."

Review: It Takes Two to Tumble, by Cat Sebastian
[fa icon="calendar'] Dec 6, 2017 10:10:00 AM / by Suzanne posted in review
What if Maria (from the Sound of Music) was actually a strait-laced vicar with a heart of gold and the Captain was still a captain? What if they had to navigate said vicar's dodgy family history, societal expectations, and an awful neighbor who was taxing his tenants out of house and home? And what if they had to do all of this with three unruly children mucking about?
Hijinks, dear reader. Hijinks and sexy boathouse shenanigans and stodgy men having those dreaded feelings about one another.
IT TAKES TWO TO TUMBLE is the first in a new series from Cat Sebastian, who writes male/male historical romance that is funny and sweet and full of banter.
Cat Sebastian has started a new series.
Long-Running Series: Thoughts on Duke of Desire, The Final Maiden Lane Novel
[fa icon="calendar'] Dec 4, 2017 11:00:00 AM / by Suzanne posted in review
I'm writing this about two hours after finishing the final full-length Maiden Lane novel and well, I have some thoughts. (Obviously.) This is a twelve novel series with two novellas, the last of which drops on Tuesday, December 5th. It's holiday themed and you can bet I have that thing on pre-order.
