One of the best things about being geeky on the internet is when other geeks find you and want to share their geeky things. I got that happy little buzz when author Quiana Glide told me about her new romance novel, Cosplay Worthy, which features a comic book writer and one of his biggest fans. I'm pretty sure she wrote it for all of us who've attended a con just to hear that one writer speak. No, I will not share who I'm casting opposite me in this scenario.

In case you missed my squee of spooky delight these last two years, I've loved both of Hester Fox's gothic historicals. While her debut, The Witch of Willow Hall, leans more into the "what the hell is happening?!" style (with an HEA), her second novel, The Widow of Pale Harbor, has a more prominent romance to go alone with the dead birds and scary happenings. As I get into more of my Spooky Season reading, I'm looking forward to the third gothic from Fox, The Orphan of Cemetery Hill, out September 15.

My introduction to Robin Talley's books was her most recent, Pulp. Pulp tells the story of a lesbian writing lesbian pulp-fiction in the 1950's and a present-day teen lesbian researching that publishing era and learning about herself in the process. This book broke my heart a few times and also gave me hope for the future. Talley writes queer historical and contemporary fiction, spanning time periods and conflicts, and while not all of it has a true Happily Ever After, she excels at eliciting emotions... even when they're uncomfortable.

Last year Veronica Scott gave Felicia Davin's Edge of Nowhere a glowing recommendation, so when we heard that the second in the Nowhere series was coming out this December? Yeah, we were interested. *eyeballs emoji*

One of the many joys of running a blog is that sometimes I get to see covers before they are released out into the world. And this time? This time I got to order a paperback before anyone else, including our fabulous author, Olivia Dade. There's a little pencil on the spine and a few other adorable details on Olivia's first self-published book, Teach Me.

I'm getting ahead of myself, though. First, let's talk about the book! Then we'll show you the cover, and THEN an exclusive excerpt!

Dakota Gray (AKA Melissa Blue) writes some truly excellent filth. In fact, that's the name of the series in which her latest release (out TODAY!) exists. The Filth series started with Perv, which is about a man who lives to go down. The heroes are also pretty darn anti-hero-y, so Dakota Gray wrote a thread about the genesis of this latest book, Adonis Line, and how she wrote it while reading all the #metoo news. We also interviewed her a while back, if you want to read more about her other books!
