Gift Guide: Sexy Stuff (NSFW)

[fa icon="calendar"] Nov 17, 2018 9:00:00 AM / by Suzanne

We had so many ideas for gifting this year that we split them into three posts!

Here's the lineup:

Cute Stuff - A collection of random stuff we like.

Sexy Stuff -This is what you're currently reading!  Links to recommended adult toys and for you and/or your partner(s).

Stuff for the Writer/Reader - Bookish things, because duh.

These posts contain affiliate links, but we've not been paid to endorse anything.

This is not meant to be an all-inclusive list. For reviews and recommendations, we'd love to point you to a few other resources we find helpful:

Oh Joy Sex Toy

Elia Winters's Reviews (A romance author who reviews sex toys!)

Autostraddle (For your lesbian/queer femme needs. This one is my favorite.)

Satisfyer

Satisfyer is known for making suction vibrators, a new(ish) type of toy that stimulates the clitoris with a pulsing tip, giving a feeling of suction. This seems to be a love it or leave it sort of toy, but for those of us for whom vibrators don't do much? It's a life-changer. If you're interested in trying it out (or have a partner who is), the Satisfyer has a lower price point than the unfortunately named Womanizer.

How to avoid being crass... *throws up hands* I give up. If this is the toy for you, it'll get you to orgasm in seconds. (Magic.)

Based on  reviews, the rechargeable varieties seem to have a higher failure rate than my old standby, but I assume part of that is the consumer tendency to only write a review when the thing doesn't work. If you want the one with batteries, it's cheaper and mine's going strong after over a year. (With new batteries.)

Here are a few of the different styles:

Satisfyer Pro Traveler

Discrete, rechargeable. Around $40.

If you're so inclined, you can pick this one up from Bawdy Bookworms, too!

Amazon, LoveHoney

Satisfyer Pro 2

Updated version of the original. Rechargeable, waterproof.

Around $50 at Amazon.

Or try the original, battery-powered one for less than $30. (Also at Amazon)

Penguin

Rechargeable, waterproof, wearing a bowtie just for you.

Prices on this vary wildly. Here is it for $34 (as I'm writing this) at Amazon.

It's $50 at Satisfyer's website.

The Classics, Updated

Magic Wand

Did you know that the classic "neck massager" from Hitachi is now just called the Magic Wand? Or that you can get a cordless version? All true! This is the super-powered heavy-duty vibe that women have sworn by for decades, but updated.

Amazon, LoveHoney

Vixen

I'm not including a photo of a flesh-toned version because these dildos look rather realistic and well, you get the idea. Vixen uses a material they call VixSkin to make the outside of their dildos have just enough squish, but the interior is solid so they still feel firm when and where you need them. They come in a variety of sizes, and many have a suction base while others can be used with a harness.

They're pricey, but if you need to gift someone a fake cock, I cannot recommend these enough. The Mustang will probably do the job, but size queens will want the Bandit.

Price: Anywhere from $70-130 at Amazon, LoveHoney

On to the more "gifty" things...

Massage Candles

Massage candles are great for setting the mood. You light the candle, let it burn for a bit to scent the air and melt the oil, and then blow it out. Let it cool so you don't burn your partner, but when it's the right temperature, you can pour a bit on your hand or on your partner and get to the massage. The whole thing is sensual, meaning that if you gift one of these to your partner, you're also gifting them an experience.

JimmyJane's candles won awards for a reason, plus they make trusted sex toys. The simple design of this candle makes it clear that this isn't your typical votive, especially with the little spout for easy pouring.  That said, it's kind of hard to find these days. (Stock up if you can.)

Amazon

There's also this one, which is a bit less expensive and has a customer review that reads "This will get you laid if you're not a complete idiot." What do you think a "midnight dragon" smells like?

Bars

If your partner isn't into the idea of something hot poured on them, you can't light candles, etc... Try a massage bar. I used to make my own, heavy on the jojoba wax, but now I just buy them from Lush.

Gift Boxes and Advent Calendars

Bawdy Bookworms has two holiday boxes this year!

get-sleighdOne is called "Get Sleigh'd" and includes edible gingerbread pasties and a flexible vibrator, while the other is New Year's themed and is called "Joy to the O." These are premium boxes and separate from the quarterly subscription.

Both boxes include lots of goodies and surprises, plus they always make sure to include batteries if you need them.

Bawdy Bookworms also put together a list of Advent Calendars from a few different toy vendors, which make for fun all month long if you're into that...

the-fantasy-boxFantasy Boxes

For couples, check out the Fantasy Box. You can buy one at a time or subscribe, and they have a bunch of premium holiday themed boxes right now. They have four different styles of box: Sensual, Playful, Control, and Costume. Sensual is the basics, playful is for fun, control is more on the kinky/BDSM side, and costume is for roleplaying/dress-up!

Boxes run from $39-$219, with a wide variety of additional items in their boutique, including lingerie in sizes XS-4X.

You can also gift a box. Unlike other subscription services, they have around 100 boxes to choose from and an online boutique for add-ons or rebuys.

Sexy Books

If you haven't checked out our dirty comics post, maybe now's the time to do so. Iron Circus Comics is about to release their fourth Smut Peddler book, and the first three are fan-yourself hot.

You may also be interested in Best Women's Erotica of the Year Volume 4, which comes out in early December. We'll have a review of that coming up soon. It's a really excellent anthology.
