October is the best month because

1) it's my birthday month

2) all the spooky and spoopy books come out

3) apples

Turns out, publishing is (mostly) on my side here. If only we could keep all the Christmas books out of my Halloween time...

I feel this every month, but this time I fear it's more true than ever: what follows is a list of books coming out in September, of which I will read very few.

I started graduate school at the end of August and between that, my job, my kids and my other commitments, I'm going to be reading a lot less fiction. And even less writing about it. We'll see how this goes for Love in Panels.

The best thing though, is that books don't expire! I'm going to continue making these lists because hey, I still want to know what's coming out... and adding to TBR Mountain.

July! Popsicles and brownouts and days so hot your fingers slip on your ereader. July is frequently a slower month for book releases as it follows the intense push in May and June to get all those "beach reads" out. But as you'll see, there are still a lot of books coming out this month, so let's get to it!

School's almost out and I don't really know what's happening, just that I'm probably going to be reading far fewer books until cooler weather returns. Luckily, this coincides with the release of a ton of books I really want to read. (Sarcasm font.)

May is a pretty big month for book releases since pubs want to get all those "beach reads" into our hands. Watch out especially for next month's list because June 1st is apparently The Day for Book Releases. Lambs. Though not this year. Again. I miss my mom, this pandemic sucks. She did send me photos!

Ah, February. It's a junk month for weather up here, but it's a big birthday month in my family so between that and the books I think I'll pull through.

Now that Inauguration is out of the way, my activist groups are ramping up our 2021 plans and I'm choosing fierce hope over the despair that keeps trying to take over.
